'The store is closed': Cellular store leaves employee to work by themself on Black Friday, they quit and leave this note on the door

For one thing, customers never understand extended wait times and will always take out their frustration on you, even if through microaggressions. On the other hand, situations like this usually mean that you go all day (9+ hours) without breaks, leaving you overly stressed, dehydrated, hungry, and completely exhausted. On the third hand, working on a holiday is terrible because you're stuck working in the aforementioned slave conditions when your friends and family are at home, with the day off work — wishing you were there.

But, in the pursuit of ever-increasing profit margins and padded pocketbooks, retailers insist on expanding their holiday operations more and more every year, requiring these workers to work more and longer despite simultaneously running staffing levels at an all-time low to save on labor costs — the only thing that isn't taken into consideration is their employee's lives and wellbeing.

On a side note, would anyone care to explain to me why Black Friday seems to be an entire month now?

Well, this worker had put up with enough; when they were asked to work their cellular reseller retail location alone (no bathroom or lunch breaks!) on Black Friday, they decided to call it quits and left. Leaving this sign on the door.

Keep reading for the photos of the sign and screenshots of the reactions and original thread below. For more, check out these Black Friday horror stories.

The employee left this note on the door when they apparently abandoned the store, leaving it unstaffed and closed:
