All living creatures need sunlight to thrive. Cats are no exception. Cats are natural-born sun-seekers! So when you see your furry companion basking in the sun, it's actually using the warmth to help make up for the slight drop in body temperature that happens when cats fall asleep. Another interesting fact is that cats have fewer heat receptors than we do. Who would have known? Thanks, Wikipedia.
We love basking in the sun almost as much as we love watching our sun-kissed felines bask in the sun. They look so at peace and relaxed while basking. We could watch our cats lying in the sun all day long, that's for sure. All this talk of basking in the sun has made us miss summer a bit, despite heading into the coldest season of the year, we're still going to keep smiling and letting our cats catch the sun rays that they can even if the sun sets at 4 pm!
