This repairman travels to stores to fix point-of-sales machines. Not only did he receive a lot of shade from this particular store's manager and store owner, but also he had to tell various customers over and over again throughout the day that he didn't actually work there and couldn't ring them up. Even when the station in which he was working behind the counter had a sign explaining it was out of service, he was still bothered and bothered and bothered. It turns out one of these crazy customers interpreted the clarification that he didn't work at the store as justification for calling the literal police on him. The logical leap from "I don't work here" to calling the cops is one that only true Karens can make.
