It's one thing when you're a teenager living at home and your mother just “happens” across a water bottle hidden in the back of your closet that's filled with ill-gotten peppermint schnapps (seriously, what the hell Mom), but it's another thing entirely when your mother-in-law is in your home snooping through your adult marital bedroom. I can reason that the MIL is probably just bored and looking to fill in the time, but that's what Candy Crush, Wordle, and doom-scrolling social media are for. Redditor u/Milathrowaway37 reached out to Reddit's r/AmIthe A**hole subreddit this week to get advice from readers as to whether or not she is in the wrong for setting a clever trap to catch her MIL in the act of snooping. The bait worked better than she could have ever hoped when her MIL saw the fake pregnancy test and proceeded to tell the entire world about the couple's “good news." Unfortunately, the poster's husband and his family seem to think that she is in the wrong here for her “trick."
