I could say that I don't have fun being a misanthrope, but that would not be the truth. I often enjoy acting like we are all are a plague upon this earth, and let's be honest, one of the easiest ways to do this is to point to our relationships. Love and lust can be some of the greatest feelings that we will ever experience, but they also have a paradoxical tendency to turn us into scumbags. Romantic partners lie! They manipulate! They serve you up a harrowing experience that you will take to your grave and then blame it on "unprocessed trauma"!

In the eyes of many, though, one of the very worst things a lover can do is cheat. Nothing punctures the fragile ego like realizing the one we love is screwing someone else. To make it all worse, there really is no good way to find out about it. That being said, the stories in this thread are hard to beat. Let's hope everyone involved got the therapy they need.
