Unless you're like me, it's likely that you don't spend that much time thinking in depth about memes. If they're really good, we remember the catchphrases and the imagery that goes along with them, but the deeper ramifications aren't something that most of us care about. Why should we? They're only meant to temporarily entertain us, after all.
However, that doesn't mean that we wouldn't benefit from taking a different approach sometimes. You can be surprised what you find when you take a closer look at something that is only meant to be glossed over. A lot of the time, you don't find a lot, but that doesn't mean that the whole thing wasn't worth it. It still wastes time when you have nothing else fun to do, and that is something to be thankful for.
