Somehow, no matter how many rescue stories we read, we never get tired of them. Reading about every cat that gets rescued and finds a forever home is like a little ray of sunshine in our day, reminding us of the kindness of humanity and giving us a little hope. It can be heartbreaking and heartwarming stories like the kitten that was found 'in rough shape' and made a huge transformation after getting rescued. It can be beautiful stories about bravery like the one about the kitten that was abandoned in the cold yelling for help until a man rescues it. Or it can be stories that are almost funny like the one about the woman who rescued a kitten that was set to be euthanized only for the kitten to become an "absolute terror".
Knowing that these cats found their forever homes brings us joy, because we know that however they may feel now, they are certainly happier now than when they were outside alone. And that's certainly true for this cat.
Quite frankly, with this kind of behavior - eating poison and attempting to make friends with people - we are honestly surprised that this precious cat survived as long as it did. But we're so glad that he did. Seeing him in that second picture, happy and content, getting petted by kind humans who care about him, makes us so dang happy.
We hope that this sweetheart finds the loving and warm forever home that he deserves and that he continues to live a long and happy life. And thank you, of course, to PAWSChicago for taking care of him and nursing him back to health.
