"You don't always get what you want," the singer Mick Jagger once famously sang; it's a statement that reminds us that there really is more to life than coveted goods and our materialistic desires — and is especially pertinent if what you desire is pizza from a place that doesn't even make pizza.
Yet, some people are completely unable to accept when they have made a mistake and become affronted by the simple reality of the situation. This drives their ego to feel backed further and further into a corner until they spiral into an apoplectic meltdown. These people have never been wrong and can't fathom the idea that they ever will be.
That's how we end up with people like this Karen, who end up bizarrely demanding pizza from a not-pizza place. Whereas you and I would either become embarrassed or laugh at ourselves, these people instead short-circuit into a feedback loop of poor programming.
