We have to be honest with ourselves - even though we love our cats more than anything in the world, there are others out there who just aren't cat people. We don't really understand them, but that's a story for a different day. In this particular instance, a Redditor and his senior cat of 21 (!) years old, Chury, found themselves in a conundrum a few days ago when his girlfriend said some devastating words against Chury.

He found himself so taken back by her words that he posted to Reddit to ask for advice about what to do - should he stay with his cat-hating girlfriend or choose Chury over his relationship? In the end, he chose his family for 21 years (way to go, Chury!), so another point goes to Gryffindor in the battle of good vs evil. Don't you just love a happy ending?

We agree with DocShady. Your companion for 21 years, who has been with you through thick and thin, good times and bad, in sickness and health definitely takes priority.

This is a great reminder for all of us. We often make excuses for others because we want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but when someone shows you a true example of who they are, you're better of believing them instead of thinking otherwise.
