    Slow Loris

    Head

The slow loris, although cute and cuddly looking, is the only known venomous primate. It freezes when it becomes anxious and covers its face with its arms. This is partly because it has noxious glands near its armpits. If it licks its armpits, its saliva mixes with the oil from the glands and gives the slow loris a venomous bite! Definitely not hugging this one, but we wish we could!

    Dingoes

    Dog

Although they look a lot like your pet, current research shows that dingoes are genetically different from house dogs. They are closer to wolves and can be extremely aggressive. We still want to give them some head scratches, though!

    Giant Panda

    Panda

We love pandas, in fact, we love everything about them. We love how silly they are, how they are so clumsy, and how eternally chill they are. However, we should remember one very important fact - they are bears. If threatened, they can be dangerous, so don't get on their bad side!

    Duck Billed Platypus

    Dog

Don't be fooled by their squishy appearance and quiet nature - they have venom in their hind legs that will leave you in pain for a long time. Don't even try to squish them, not even a little bit, no matter how much you want to.

    Polar Bears

Okay, we guess you see a pattern here. They're cute and adorable, but still bears. And they won't accept a Coca-Cola as a peace offering, either. Don't believe everything you see on TV!

    Kangaroos

    Grass

Kangaroos are like dogs in Australia - you often see them out in nature or wandering around, exploring. They don't often find themselves in trouble, but they are quite the ferocious fighters. They can punch with their arms and, obviously, their legs are extremely strong tools for attacking. Don't want to get into a fight with them!

    Tasmanian Devil

    Carnivore

Although these little guys might look like cute puppy-mongoose-ferret hybrids, they can be very territorial, especially when defending a mate. Better not hug one, or else it will think you're trying to steal its girl, and then you'll be on the losing side of that battle.

    Giant Anteater

    Giant anteater - ENE THYSSEN

When you first see this picture, you might think, "Why is there a panda bear with this anteater?". Well, it's actually just the anteater in this photo. They adapted this fur pattern to look larger and more numerous out in the wild. Also, they have front claws that are on average 4 inches, and when they feel threatened, they stand on the hind legs and swing those sharp things like its no one's business. Better to stay away from these cuddly-looking creatures.

    Leopard seals

    Earless seal

They're cute when you're watching them in the water, diving and doing all their water acrobatics, but in the wild they're ferocious predators. Leopard seals are vicious hunters, and have even been known to drown humans. Definitely a no-hug zone!

    Dolphins

    Water

We all know and love dolphins for their playful nature. Most of us remember Flipper or have been to Sea World and have seen how cute and happy they look. However, in the wild they can easily turn aggressive. They have sharp teeth and are very powerful swimmers. If you get dragged underwater by one, your chances of escape are next to zero. Better to hug them from afar or in your dreams!
