Being a mom is a really hard job, but you know what? Cats do an amazing job with it. Cat moms are literally heroes. You'd think- oh, what is there even to do for cat moms other than feed their kittens? Well, a lot! Cat moms have so much to teach to their little babies. Cat moms teach their kittens how to communicate - because it's important to know how to refuse to do what your human wants you to do in the clearest way possible. Cat moms teach their kittens how to drink water - because if you do it wrong, water will get up your nose. Cat moms teach their kittens how to walk - because even though you may think that it's easier on four legs than on two, it's still really hard.
And now only that, but cats are known to be affectionate toward human babies as well. Even before said babies are born. They can hear the baby in the mom's belly, the can smell the hormones around the mother change, and quite a few of them can get protective and affectionate toward the mother - as Keke Palmer found out for herself in this hilarious twitter thread.
You know, it is possibly that when the baby will be born, the cat will be a little jealous for a while. We don't know how often that happens, but it certainly does. We can only hope that this will go in the other direction, that this cat's protectiveness will continue on to when the baby is born.
She does indeed know that she's pregnant. And there's a reason that she's climbing specifically onto you to cuddle rather than sit next to you. It's love. The kitty cares. And it's one of the most adorable and heartwarming things that can happen to a cat owner during a pregnancy in our opinions.
