Living with cats is always a bit chaotic. Every once in a while, you'll be lying in your bed at night, trying to fall asleep, and you'll hear a noise - a random supposedly meaningless noise - and you will know, instantly, deep in your gut, that your cat licking the butter that you accidentally left out on the counter. Because that's what living with cats is like. Eventually, you get attuned to their chaos. Even if moments of it still take you off guard. Like that time a cat locked his human out of the bathroom or that other story about a cat repeatedly getting stuck on the roof and requiring help.
Really, the man in this twitter thread should have immediately assumed his cat was the root of the problem. Doesn't matter what the problem is, chances are that the cat is the culprit. And it's especially true here. Cats have a strange love for sitting on electronics. That's a fact.
We said it once, and we will say it again: if something randomly stops working in your house, you should check what the cat is doing. True, most times, it's probably not their fault, but it's always possibly their fault, so it's better to make sure. You can just assume that once in a while - the timeline is different per cat - your cat will choose to do something to make you insane.
Oh, it has to have been. All cats know, eventually, that the keyboard is not a proper sitting place. We make sure to let them know, repeatedly, about that rule, so if they choose to break it, then that's exactly what it is - they choose to break it. It's a choice.
