Hardcore Honey Badger Ferociously Attacks a Leopard 10x Its Size, Risking It All to Rescue Her Baby

Some animals in the wild are known to be badasses. Bears, panthers, wolves, and other predatory mammals are usually the first thing that pops into your mind when you think of super intimidating and majestic wildlife, but the honey badger, one of the most fierce creatures on the planet, takes the cake when it comes to badassery. They are essentially fearless and consistently take on animals that are significantly bigger and have longer, pointier teeth. The honey badger don't care.

Recently, a video of a mama honey badger went viral and people were shocked by what they saw. Honestly, we shouldn't be surprised anymore that honey badgers are borderline insane and don't fear for their life like other small mammals, but this mother badger was ready to risk it all to save her cub. Honey badgers give birth to one baby at a time, so they are exceptionally loyal and willing to fight to the death for their babies. Considering some animals in the wild eat their babies if they're feeling a bit peckish, I'd say that the honey badger wins mom of the year for this one.

The video starts with a blurry, out of focus shot of a leopard in the forest, stalking away with a fresh looking snack in its mouth. Out of nowhere, the mother honey badger comes in at full speed, ferociously assaulting the leopards face and neck with her claws. That's HER baby.

It's only after the badger charges that we realize the reason for her attack. As the leopard skitters away from the slashing paws of the mother honey badger, the limp little body of a tiny, black and white badger baby tumbles out from beneath the scuffle. But the mother doesn't leave it at that. This is personal now. After rescuing her baby cub, the mama badger charges after the leopard AGAIN. She chases this apex predator away from her bay, no doubt screaming badgerly obscenities along the way.

Significantly bamboozled, the leopard pouts from a safe distance, watching as the mother honey badger returns to her cub, scooping him up and taking him home to safety. The leopard doesn't want to risk losing an eye to the tiny, beastly badger, so she keeps away from the murderous black and white weasel. Nobody wants to mess with a honey badger, especially a mother. So next time you're thinking of mammals in the wild that really shouldn't be trifled with in the wild, next time the honey badger will come to mind first.
