So, let's just state the obvious, and take a look at the elephant in the room — Valentine's day is fast approaching, and although we're not exactly thrilled, we want to get one thing straight: Being single is not a big deal. We've just been conditioned to think that it is. That being said, it is totally normal to feel a bit lonely, especially on Valentine's day, when it's being thrown in your face. If there wasn't so much money to be made on this special day, the day wouldn't exist, of that we can assure you.

It's all about the revenue. And it works. Come the 14th, everyone seems to have a romantic date with a cute dude/tte — or a date with a bucket of ice cream and their cat. We're of the latter. At least we can pick out the flavor without having to consider anybody else. Sure we goggle jealously at the Insta stories our friends' post of their partner buying them flowers and chocolate, but let's not forget that men don't actually read minds. The only reason they remember to get flowers is because the street is lined with little vendors, spelling it out for 'em.
