We could sit here all day and talk about what the most important part of a good or bad movie is. There are many different factors, but it can't be denied that one of the most telling qualities is its length. Whether a film is 70 minutes or four hours, it all depends on its contents to conclude whether it is garbage or a masterpiece. Either way, it has the power to surprise when we check on the runtime and realize that there's so many minutes to go.
This has been the premise for an AskReddit thread, in which people were asked which movies surprised them when they saw how much time they still had left. From true classics that manage amazing feats in half an hour to boredom fests that manage to stretch out for eternity, there are a real selection here. Some good recommendations for those with failing attention spans, too.
