There's something fun about diversifying your vernacular with phrases from bygone eras. I am fully aware that sometimes I speak like a little boy from the 1950s. I feel like Ron Howard in Happy Days, primarily when I use the word "swell" or the phrase "gee whiz." Nobody calls anything "swell" anymore, and that's a shame. Many things are swell, and I don't want to call something "great" when it's not great, but rather, swell.
Another old-timey phrase I enjoy saying is "kid sister." I have a kid sister; she's 21 years old, but by definition, a kid sister simply means a "younger sister." When I tell people I have a kid sister, and I tell them how old she is, they have a cow! I do not appreciate it when my fellow coeds tell me how I should talk, especially when I am right! If you're looking for some memes that'll make you say "golly gee," you need not go any further than this here webpage!
