While cats do get up to some wacky antics, plants (aside from catnip) aren't usually a part of them (unless they are getting pawed off a table). So imagine our surprise when we stumbled upon the concept of "Cat Fruit". It is the idea that when a cat is spotted amongst a plant, the cat becomes the metaphorical fruit of that plant, fluffy and purry to pick.
So be aware the next time you are walking down the street and keep a look out. You see a cat in a tree? You see a cat in a bush? Give it a pet and see if the fruit is ripe. Remember the phrase "If it bites, it's ripes", and don't forget the catnip.
Ah now this tree produces a rich variety of Cat Fruit depending on the time of year. It seems this image was snapped in Autumn when this Cat Fruit tree produces orange, furry fruit. The perfect treat on a brisk Autumn day, we would recommend pairing it with a smidge of catnip and perhaps some salmon.
Take note dear readers for what you see here is an unripe Cat Fruit. Very cute, very sweet but under no circumstances are we to pick Cat Fruit when it is at this stage of maturity. A good way to tell when they are ready to be picked is if they could potentially leave you with 30cm long scratch marks down your arms. That is the perfect time to pick Cat Fruit.
