Font - tracertong3229 - 6 days ago Do you have any documentation of the refusal of entry? I would obviously reccomend getting a lawyer, that step alone will probably be enough to get them to back down unless there uis some other outstanding reason for you to get evicted that you neglected to mention 120 Reply Share Restless Mind95 OP 6 days ago . Font - - Snow Removal 12 Thurs Good morning, We have arranged to have our snow removal contractors plow the parking lot at your location, again, today at noon. Therefore, we are asking that you have your vehicle cleared off and out of the parking lot for 12, noon. Please note that during stormy weather we ask that all occupants avoid using the parking spaces in the middle of the lot and the space next to the dumpster so we can plow the majority of the lot without asking you to move. We will be s

#4: This one refused to get with the times!

Font - Can I Be Forced to Pay Rent a Particular Way? Need Advice My "lovely" new property owner (also new at being a landlord) is really causing me anxiety to the point where I loathe speaking to her. Her latest move is to mandate HOW I pay my rent payment, as in she wants me to use Zelle. For obvious reasons, I do not want to do that. I want to do Billpay through my bank, as I am covered should the check get lost. Clearly, she is unaware of how to deposit checks online as she said "standing in

Font - Her "assistant" wrote me an email stating I could put a security protocol on my computer for more protection. Clearly, she does not understand the issue is with the Zelle application itself, NOT PEOPLE'S COMPUTERS!! I am so frustrated at the lack of understanding with both parties. Does anyone know if, in New York, tenants can be forced to pay one way or another? I am wondering if it is legal. Yes, after 8.5 years at same property, I will be moving as soon as I am able. Font - Greevar 2 days ago You are not required to pay the rent in any other way than what is in the rental agreement. If there is no clause regarding payment methods, you likely can pay in any way that is legal. The LL can't demand payment methods not explicitly stated in the rent agreement. IANAL, so you should definitely seek a legal expert (you might be entitled to free counsel) or your local housing authority.

Font - khbuzzard edited 1 hr. ago 8 hr. ago. Here is Florida security deposit law: https://www.flsenate.gov/Laws /Statutes/2015/0083.49 I'm not a lawyer and not from Florida. But by my reading of this - especially section (3)(a) - the landlord was supposed to advise you in their letter that you have 15 days to object to their proposed withholdings. Because the letter doesn't say that, I'd argue that it's not "substantially similar" to the notice required by law, and the landlord has therefore fo

Font - NormieLesbian . 8 hr. ago If you have good documentation, it's normally better to file first. Send a demand letter with a clear timeline stating your position and quoting relevant sections of the Landlord-Tenant code/laws. Make the accusation that they are renovating units using your deposit unlawfully. Then at the end state that if not satisfied by date.

Font - In the interregnum between sending the letter and when they open it, you can create some burner google accounts and leave reviews on them and other local businesses stating they're renovating. Make these positive reviews so they don't get them removed immediately. Screenshots a day/few hours after posting should be all the proof you need.

#7: No one deserves zero heat in winter! Ridiculous!

Font - No heat because the boiler is too loud, raw sewage spilling everywhere Need Advice I just need to rant. I'm stuck in the middle of a midwest winter with no heat because one tenant complained that the boiler was too loud, so until they get a new boiler, a bunch of us have no heat. In winter. Not to mention I have raw sewage from the garbage disposal and toilet pouring out of a drain cleanout and into my cabinets and floors, soaking the wood. It smells like a sewer in my apartment and I can

Font - And when I called the emergency line apparently it's not an emergency. So I have to just wait. There are a ton of other problems here too. But everyone in this complex is poor so it's not like we can just leave. I feel so powerless because I can't do anything to fix this myself. I have a criminal record so I can't get into any other apartment complex in my city (I tried) so I'm stuck. Gotta love capitalism. I've paid rent on time for 3 years, been a good tenant, but landlords have no loya

Font - My downstairs neighbor in the house I rent moved out, and the landlord sent a crew to clean out the unit. They mistakenly cleaned out a shared outdoor storage space that contained only my belongings, including two bikes, a lawnmower, a vacuum, and any number of tools and household items. After pestering my Landlord, they located and returned the lawnmower, claiming that it had been broken and someone from the turnkey company had taken it home and fixed it (it was working just fine, and ac

Font - When I pressed them about the other contents of the building, they gave the response in the image below. They claimed the bikes were not working (not true; they were) and that since everything "looked like" trash the best they could do was a $50 Amazon gift card. I responded saying that this amount would not cover the loss, and now they are ghosting me. Do I have sufficient grounds to take any kind of legal action?

Window - H I apologize about this, our previous staff member, Wendy- advised the turnkey company that it was to be trashed out/left from the previous tenant. She should have checked with you all first, but a majority of it did appear to be trash/junk and the turnkey company advised the bikes were not usable, there were other bikes under the porch area that were hung up (that they did not touch) and that these appeared to be trash. The lawnmower was the only significant item- which was not workin

Font - bendover912. 1 day ago Make an itemized list and submit to the landlord for reimbursement. Cost to replace item of like kind and quality, not cost of a new item. If landlord refuses, submit renter's insurance claim, submit same list. If no insurance, small claims or take the gift card, whatever you prefer. 44.4K Share
