Font - If I have to do it, you have to do it too M OC this happened years ago with my ex, they are an ex for a reason lol. My ex and i had a long distance relationship for a number of years, we would fight very often, and i always blamed it on "the long distance". what i told myself was that "we are both so stressed from the long distance, and the stress leads to us fighting all the time" after a couple of years of long distance, she moved in me with after she got a new job in the state that i l

Font - we lived in a small one bed/one bath, but it was big enough for the both of us. unfortunately, we continued to fight even more so than when we were long distance. one time i came back from the gym, i was super tired, went to the bathroom to pee and get some food after, etc. because i was tired, i forgot to put the toilet seat down, this ONE TIME, i always put down both the seat and the lid, just so happened that i didn't do it this time.

Font - she comes into the bathroom after me, and make the biggest deal about putting the toilet seat down, how i dont care about her, and so on. I didnt want to get into a huge fight over nothing, so i simply said, i'm sorry i'll make sure to put it down. she pees, and then i go in to shower after her, i notice that the seat was down (obvi) but the toilet lid was still up (she never put the lid down)

Font - so MC kicked into overdrive - i said to her "can you make sure you put the toilet lid down whenever you use the bathroom" and basically repeated everything she had said to me about not caring about her and so on, petty, sure, but if shes going to make a big stink about something so small, so am i. so she yelled at me and said i was being ridiculous, and i basically repeated everything she said to me right back to her in regards to putting down the toilet seat and the toilet lid.

Font - if i have to pick up something, and put it back down every time i pee, so do you, you dont get special treatment. this was a huge screaming fight, and she basically said "no, i'm not doing it" i continued to put the seat and lid down every time, and she never put the lid down, and i would always make sure to tell her she didnt do it, and how it showed she didnt care.

Font - relationship didnt last much longer after that, we were just not right for each other. i should have noticed it years prior, but i used the "long distance" excuse instead of seeing that we were a bad match

Font - Camel Holocaust +2. 23 hr. ago I never knew what a point of argument this really was until I got older. We always had a cat and you only need to have it run around your house soaking wet once to stop making that mistake.

Font - TMinfidel 23 hr. ago My sister does this (leaving the lid up but the seat down), to the point that she goes to the toilet in the dark without checking whether the lid is down or not. I used her toilet once and did the normal human thing of closing the lid after I'd finished, only to have her complain later that she pissed all over herself as a result.

Font - phenomstar 23 hr. ago Why are people so incapable of looking at a toilet seat before they sit down to use it? It takes less than a second to see and recognize what the situation is, and automatically move to adjust the seat up or down as needed.

Font - tvdoomas 23 hr. ago Gotta close the top lid so your cat/dog doesn't drink up, then come kiss you with turd breath, dripping tiolet water from their chin.

Font - WhoSc3w3dDaP00ch. 21 hr. ago Lower the lids people, the flush makes airborne droplets...of whatever was in the toilet. Lowering the lid cuts the number of airborne droplets down ~1/2.

Font - Rhamona_Q. 1 day ago I never understood this. My aunt once yelled at my husband for leaving the toilet seat up right before she went in. And this was at a gathering at my sister's house, not even at my aunt's house! Apparently she didn't look at the seat before she sat and fell in >.>

Font - The way we see it, if it's up, put it down. If it's down, put it up. Whatever you need to do for how you go. Looking before you sit is just common sense, especially at a large family gathering with several people.

Font - CoderJoel 23 hr. ago Wow, people become unhinged about the stupid seat. The way I see it, if anyone goes to sit without realizing the seat is up, they'll get a nasty surprise and may even get injured, if not physically, then at least their dignity. I do not want that to happen to my wife so I put the seat down.

Font - 500 PixiWombat 18 hr. ago Why can't everyone just close the lid when they are finished.
