Human beings can be insane sometimes. That's fact. We all know it. Everyone - especially us animal people - every once in a while is hit with the urge to pet something we shouldn't or adopt something we shouldn't. Most of us don't act on it, because we understand the risks, but some people do. Like the man who tried to befriend a wild lynx cub that randomly saw while taking a walk, or the person who accidentally adopted a wolf and decided- screw it, I'll keep it, or the person who accidentally adopted a bobcat and decides - yes, you guessed it - screw it, I'll keep it. Now, none of these are necessarily bad things, but they are a bit nutty.
The story we have for you today is certainly about someone who is a little bit nutty - but also awesome. As a parent, when you get a call from school, talking about an incident report, your guts sinks with worry. Buuut then to hear that what happened was your daughter actively tempting seagulls to land on her, then actually catching one, then using it to try to scare children… nutty but awesome.
There are so many levels of chaos in this one sentence that we don't even know what to start reacting to. From the fact that she wanted to catch a seagull, to the ingenuity of using gummy worms to bait them, to the fact that she actually caught one, to the fact that it bit her…
…To the fact that she was completely unbothered by the fact that the seagull bit her, to the fact that she still thinks it was a fun activity even after the seagull bit her, to her thinking that her teacher is a wuss about the whole thing, to her seeming general lack of fear about anything in life… Deep breath. This girl- is an inspiration.
