Living with roommates is always a test of both your leniency, relationship, and overall chillness. Sharing a roof can make or break friendships and as most young people have seen, their touchier friendships are usually broken. One pair of women living in a house together recently tackled one of the classic housemate shortcomings: boyfriends.
When you sign a lease with someone, that doesn't automatically include the residency of any of their concubines or romantic relationships. One might consider it reasonable for a significant other to sleep over at their house once or twice a week, but when a pattern starts to occur where they are sleeping there 3+ times per week, at what point have they become your third housemate? At what point do you start charging a boyfriend rent? What some people never realize is that your boyfriend is another human being taking advantage of your living situation and as a roommate, that sucks.
One girl recently got roasted on Reddit when she suggested that, because of her boyfriend's failed planning, he was entitled to sleep over as often as he wanted. It doesn't matter how unobtrusive you think you're being, your roommate knows you're there and if it makes them uncomfortable, there need to be reparations in mind. YTA.
