Stephen Sondheim said the following in his Pulitzer Prize winning musical Sunday in the Park with George.
"There are only two worthwhile things to leave behind when you depart this world of ours: children and art."
Of course, this is not an objective fact. You could argue that you will leave many worthwhile things behind when you die that go beyond those two rigid categories. But when you think about it, what are you, an average Joe like me, going to leave behind when you die? Probably children and art. These are two of the most important things in your life. They bring you so much fulfillment and happiness. They can drive you up the wall and make you want to rip your hair out. Children and art might not always love you back, but you will always love them with all of your heart. If children and art are what you're going to leave behind when you die, you'll love these parenting tweets.
