For beings that are so curious and so brave, cats… cats are also incredibly easily startled. If you're a cat owner, you know that. If there is something spooky going on, your cat will have one of two reactions. Either your cat will gear up and get ready to battle or your cat will run and hide and act like the world is ending. Cats get startled by the silliest things, and even though a part of us feels bad for them, the other - much bigger - part of us can't stop laughing.
Hey, it's impawssible not to laugh when your cats get spooked by completely non-scary things or when cats inadvertently swat unknown objects towards themselves and then freak the heck out. It's pretty much your job as a cat owner to laugh at them when that happens.
Oh, Noodle. Noodle is - if you didn't know yet - a cat who is constantly and consistently spooked by literally nothing. Or at least, to us, it looks like nothing. Our guess is that Noodle is actually able to see another dimension, and whatever is going on there is so much worse than what's going on here that he just cannot help but be shocked by it literally every second of every day.
It's funny when our cats do that, yes, but honestly, we can't even judge them. When someone unknown passes outside of our apartment, our hackles go up right along with our cat's. Never hurts to be vigilant, right? …Right?
