Light - 140 to take my mom to the ER this morning so I just need you to know in case I ever have to deal with an emergency regarding her being in the hospital I'm sorry about your mom. Your trainer was brought in from out of town so I do need you at that badging office at eight I'm sorry but if they tell me that she needs an emergency surgery and I need to stay with my mom then I'd rather risk my job than her life. I will still pull as many strings as possible to be there on time and get this do

Font - To add. Did they know about your mom before hiring you? Did you know about your moms condition before applying? CartConnoisseurGF OP Score hidden 32 minutes ago They knew, and they knew she had surgery last Friday but still continuously called me in the morning and asked me to come in after we had established TODAY as my start.

Font - You made the right call, but the ocd in me has to ask, boss said we will move on with another candidate, did you have the job already? CartConnoisseurGF OP Score hidden 38 minutes ago I did have the job already, they have to find another candidate who can get through all the qualifications like I did

Font - ImbambiBitch - 1 hr. ago When my mom went into the ICU my boss at the time was the same, we had a business number that would forward calls from my clients to me. My boss was like "I don't want you to see you until your mom is better, also I've already setup your client calls to be forwarded to me, we only have one 1 mom in this life, we will have many jobs"

Font - Downhill Destruction 1 hr. ago The way it should be. If employers want us to be committed and loyal, they need to be worth of said loyalty. I've mentioned this before in similar threads, but my first boss out of college once bragged, in an attempt to tout his work ethic, that he only took a few hours off work when his dad died. That's when I knew I didn't want to work for that man.

Font - iamtruetomyself9 2 hr. ago edited 2 hr. ago Yes, this should be done. I've seen companies that went bankrupt after they did shit like this and people found out. Companies want us to be loyal but they do s like this when in hard times

Font - Cowboy_Corruption - 1 hr. ago Might be heartless of me, but I can't help but wish something equally bad happening to that manager's family so they have something to directly correlate this with. But who am I kidding? This manager would probably dump their family member off like a piece of luggage and haul ass into work so they don't have to miss a meeting. Empathy is definitely lacking in managers these days.

Font - Blidesdale · 3 hr. ago Everytime they do this, they're making less and less people care about job loyalty or professionalism. It's already started to bite corporate America in the behinds.

Font - CartConnoisseurGF OP 2 hr. ago Thank you all for the support for my mom!! I'm not sure how long she will be in the ER, but I am not leaving this woman's side for anything. The prayers and well-wishes have really made my heart swell.
