It's weird to watch the TV shows you were obsessed with when you were a kid and realize that they're not as funny as you remember them to be. I wouldn't expect shows like iCarly and Victorious to still appeal to someone in their early 20s; the aging of Nickelodeon shows is a much-needed reminder that we're all getting older, whether we like it or not.
There are a lot of things that are difficult to choke down when watching iCarly. The randomness of the humor is so late 2000s that it doesn't compute anymore. Also, after reading Jennette McCurdy's memoir, I'm Glad My Mom Died, it's challenging to look back at the show with the same childhood innocence. The machine of child stardom has always been an extremely dysfunctional one, and very few have escaped unharmed. That reality makes "random dancing" a lot less fun to mindlessly rewatch. If you like random memes more than tween comedies of the aughts, these memes won't be a disappointment.
