This man just unlocked another level of mountaineering
Whenever you take your dog on a nice hike in the wild, it's tempting to let them off the leash to run free as they please. No matter how much training you've done with them, there's a small voice in your head that wonders if they'll come back to you if you call them. If you think that training your dog to have a good recall is hard, imagine stepping up the animal training and getting a flippin' goat to do what you want it to. One man defied the odds of animal intelligence and perseverance by training two dogs AND TWO GOATS to follow him diligently on a hike.
Not only are these animal impeccably trained to listen to their owner, Steve, is an experienced wilderness man and has been traipsing around the outdoors with nothing but his camping gear for 40 years. Not only was Steve beginning to get exhausted with all of his gear, but be picked up a few adopted companions at home named Ash and Juni (the doggos) along with Bill and Levi (a pair of enormous brown goats).
Together these 5 amigos go on hikes and go camping in the wilderness as a team. Steve has trained them all to carry specially designed packs that can hold all of the camping gear that they'll need at any given point, creating the ultimate wagon of workers to follow him happily into the woods. No more carrying your own gear!
Naturally Steve has one utility backpack that holds some essential items, but because of his extra load volume (with the animal caravan), he can bring along some luxurious items like tents, extra sleeping bags, and cookware. He's known specifically for his lightweight wood burning stoves that he designed.
The goats and the dogs merrily get on their way beside Steve, following him like a loyal band of little campers into the unknown.
Steve might have cracked the code on how to camp with all the luxuries of home. First you have to train 4 large animals to love you dearly and follow your every command, some bovine creatures would be helpful because they're built for strength-work. Then you need to have specially designed packs that they can carry. Then you can be just like Steve and live your life in the woods without sacrificing the comforts of home– or companionship.
