Baffled New York Neighbors Inform Their Landlord About a Mouse Problem, He Suggests Bringing in a Furry Feline Specialist

Cats are the natural predators of rodents in the wild. Felines are perfectly designed predators, with their giant eyes, incredible hearing, silent walking skills, and oh yeah, they're razor sharp claws and teeth! There's no denying the predatory instinct of a cat, but when you have a mouse problem in NYC, it's not the first thing that comes to mind. One pair of neighbors living in New York were faced with a baffling response from their landlord when they informed him about their mouse infestation.

The two girls shared adjacent apartments in Brooklyn, thus they shared the common rodent problem and had seen mice skittering around their apartments. Worried and a little bit heebed out, the two reached out to their landlord regarding the mouse sightings and his response was epic. He did the logical thing and brought in a specialist. Not a pest control company or a rodent removal service, but a real, predatory specialist, bred for centuries for one purpose: a cat.

Honestly, the landlord has a point. Cats will not only scare away the mice with their smell, but they might even exterminate some of them on the way. Plus, the surviving mice will tell their little mice friends that a spooky fluff-devil lives in that home so they should seek refuge elsewhere. The landlord had a pretty good point, it's simply not everyone's first thought.

Hilariously, the girls are open to the idea. Although it's a bit kooky to suggest bringing in a living animal (that's not even your pet) to take care of a mouse problem, the spirit of the idea is pretty genius.

The adorable feline for hire, the female kitty named “Fat Basterd”, looks all too prepared to take down her mousy foes, unwittingly doing a service to everyone in this Brooklyn abode.

As if Fat Basterd (FB) was planning to clock in for a days work, the discussed terms of their agreement with their landlord, scheduled her arrival and FB got to work. Fortunately for the 13 year old doggo living in Kate's apartment (below), FB was only interested in taking out the mice.

In classic New York fashion, the comment section was full of affirmations of the success of employing a kitty to do rodent pest control. It seems a cat really is the ultimate mouse deterrent and Fat Basterd is certainly on the case.
