The majority of the food bloggers and influencers we have worked with have been great. They've been in, paid for their food and given unbiased reviews.

Font - However, we often get the ones contacting us who have nothing to do with what we do ie food. When this happens they receive a copy and paste answer telling them they'll be paying like everyone else. However the particular 'influencer', this post is about, seemed to miss the point and proceeded to suggest a time for their visit which I promptly ignored.

Font - By way of background here this is a 'mummy blogger' with zero food posts. Nice enough content but not at all related. It was also her PR Company who contacted us directly - which we just took for her pretending to be someone else. Anyway, in she comes on the day her 'PR Colleague' had suggested and then told all the staff she would be eating for free. The staff said no, they hadn't been told and we don't do that. She insisted and kicked up a bit of a fuss about it. The staff gave in as th

Font - Then I found out. I'd been away on the day and, honestly, had forgotten about the conversation believing nobody would be THAT cheeky. How wrong I was. I emailed the 'PR Colleague' and after a brief exchange advised her I shall be sending the bill, which will be paid, or I shall be speaking to the police about fraud. Then the content went up and the bill got paid. Im calling that a win!

Font - CrysisAverted "Oh you're an influencer, awesome! How many people can you influence to come to my shop?" "Well i have 250,000 followers" "Cool! Ok can you show me your geographic demographics?" "What?" "Well 250,000 followers is only a useful number if they live in this city, otherwise it's utterly meaningless..."

Font - drapehsnormak This person is an influencer, so they obviously influence people, right? Here's an idea I heard once: Charge the influencer full cost for their meal, but keep track of how much it was. Offer a code unique to them that they can give to their followers which grants a 10% (or other value) discount. Once 10(once again, or other value) people have used that code you refund the influencer's meal, since they've proven they actually are an influencer in some manner.

Font - Troy_Bunting OP. I love this idea but monitoring it would be so time consuming

Font - Comfortable_Box_8798. I have about 3 influences on my facebook and they're heavy hitters even they pay for some of the stuff they make content about. I am guessing this person has 30 followers and they're all family. 1 Reply Share Troy_Bunting OP. To be fair she had 15k followers it just wasn't related in any way to what we do
