#1: This Karen almost had her dog purposely bite a neighborhood jogger!

Font - In need of advice on how to deal with a neighborhood Karen I started going on morning walks around the neighborhood with my mom & baby nephew when the pandemic hit. After consistently doing this for a few months, we noticed the regular walkers & in particular a woman with Karen-like behaviors.
  • 02
Font - I noticed that when anyone saw someone else walking on the same side of the sidewalk, most people would cross the street & continue walking on the other side of the sidewalk. So we began following this etiquette as well. But whenever we saw neighborhood Karen, she always walked with a sense of entitlement as if we should be the ones always moving out of her way, hence she would never bother crossing the street or even moving to one side of the sidewalk so both parties can pass without nee

Font - I am Asian 28F & Karen is Asian, approximately mid 40s-early 50s Fast forward, I began running 3-4x a week in 2022. After 3 weeks of consistently running, I saw Karen about twice & it was always from a distance - one day, as I was running down, I saw her at the top of a park entrance where she began pulling her dog & rushing to get to the sidewalk as soon as we made eye contact. I passed her before she made it to the sidewalk to which she yelled "watch where you're running, girl!!" I was

Font - I saw her again on my run 3 days later. On my first loop, I was coming downhill on a T intersection when I saw her across the street. I was already midway turning left when she attempted to walk in front of me. I didn't think too much of it but I definitely got an inkling that she was trying to start trouble. On my second loop, she was standing at the corner of a cul-de-sac by a fire hydrant where the sidewalk is the widest but also near a busy street intersection where a lot of cars are

Font - taking up about 75% of the space of the sidewalk. She was facing & watching me approach the cul-de- sac to which I just ignored her. I passed her while remaining on the sidewalk. By the 3rd loop, I didn't expect to see her still standing there. I did the same thing but at this point, my gut feeling told me this woman is trying to instigate something.
  • 06
Font - I finished my run & began walking as a cool down. And from a distance, I see Karen walking up on the same side of the sidewalk. She didn't bother moving closer to one side & I walked passed her with whatever space I had to pass her. As soon as I passed her, she says "Do you have a problem?"
  • 07
Font - I have the argument recorded but long story short, I did not refrain from telling her off when she started mocking me. She said "the entire neighborhood has a problem with you running" & threatened to have her dog bite me. When I told her she should learn to share the sidewalk, she kept using those same words on me.
  • 08
Font - I've been running earlier to avoid seeing or running into her altogether. But lately, I'm seeing her more regularly... and there's been a few times where we pass each other on the same side of the sidewalk. I understand that one of the immediate responses are that I should just run across the street or on the street and let her have the sidewalk. But does that make her a successful bully?
  • 09
Font - So my question is, should I ask the people that I see regularly on my runs if they have a problem with me running? Along with letting them know that this woman is causing problems? TYIA **I forgot to mention, when she said the whole neighborhood had a problem with me running, she also said that I purposely run at her...

#2: This unhinged text exchange! Enjoying tofu is not "appropriating" vegan culture

Product - Hey! I loved your tofurkey dinner recipe you shared, how long have you been vegan? Hey thanks! I love making it haha. I'm not a vegan though, I'm sorry glad you enjoyed it Oh vegetarian? No, I just don't like the taste and texture of most meats haha Oh So your like pretending to be a vegan cause it's cool and in? I've been. vegan for 3 years now and it was the best decision I've made in my life. It's not hip or cool. It's important.
  • 11
Font - Good for you!! That's great! I am not pretending to be a vegan at all, in fact I'm quite open about eating beef on profile. There's public posts that state that. I just like tofu more than most meats. Tofu is strictly for vegans vegetarians. You are basically admitting to appropriating us and stealing what we need for your own selfish use. I'm going to request to the admin that you are removed from our group. With all due respect, I'm not appropriating anything, I'm eating food I like you

This Karen couldn't wait 15 minutes for a game to end and instead tried to call the police!

Font - Calling the Cops on a Kids Soccer Game? I was not the direct recipient of this one, the other coach was. I hear most of it and confirmed with the other coach what I heard. Thanks to spring being spring, we had to makeup my kids soccer game. The other coach and I both happened to have Thursday 5PM practice times so we just moved practice to the game fields. The club confirmed the field space was available and everything should be golden! Since the club uses the park for practice during the

Font - For context, these are 10-12 yr olds and its rec soccer. The park we are playing at is a pretty big sports complex with space for about 20 soccer/American football/other sports with a large green area needed. Our soccer club leaves goals up during the season on about half the space because of the agreement with the city and the field we use does have them up all the time.
  • 14
Font - The game is rolling along and we are about midway through the 2nd half when a woman with a stroller walks over and starts talking to the other coach. I am far away at first and assume parent. As I wander back I note the body language of my fellow coach is a bit disgruntled. She and I have been coaching the same age groups since our kids were 3 so I know enough to recognize something is up and I move close enough to listen in and hear the following:
  • 15
Font - OC - Other Coach, SM - Stroller Mom SM: We have the fields right now so you need to get out of here! OC: I am not sure what to tell you, we have maybe 15 minutes left and I am not going to just make the kids stop playing the game. SM: When this happened last time, my frisbee league had to wait almost thirty minutes! We pay for the space and it is ours so you need to do something.
  • 16
Font - OC: It's 15 minutes then we will clear out quickly. SM: No, we pay for this space and you can't be here. You need to leave. The last time this happened I was told to call the cops if it happened again and I will if I have to. OC (deadpan face and voice): You want to call the cops because of a kids soccer game that will be done in 15 minutes?
  • 17
Font - SM (Incredulous that her strategy seems to be failing): You have to leave! We have ultimate frisbee here every Thursday and we pay for the fields so you are in our way. OC: *stares blankly* SM: What are you going to do? OC: Finish the game.
  • 18
Font - At this point stroller mom walks off in a huff and goes over to a group of maybe five people and is gesturing and pointing at us. From the body language, I am guessing that the others in her group are not as adamant about running off a bunch of kids playing soccer. The other coach asked me if I heard what she said and I told her that I got the gist of it. Apparently SM started out stating, "you need to leave right now or I have to call the cops" which I really wish I had heard because I w

Font - I messaged our club after the game as an FYI because I really didn't want another team to deal with this again or have someone actually call the cops and cause more issues. They let me know this morning that our soccer club actually pays for the fields we were on every day during the week till 6 PM. At the time this conversation started it was about 5:40 or so.

#5: Finally, we leave you with a classic tale of a Karen's parking complaints!

Font - Karen at Lowe's hardware Wish I had stopped to record it. Wife and I are walking into the Lowe's hardware store. Coming out is a women with a store rep. We get to hear....... Karen: I can't park my truck under that tree. The branches are too low. You need to have someone trim that, RIGHT NOW, so I can park. The parking lot was nearly empty with other spaces that had trees next em. Lol In hindsight, I shoulda moved my car under that tree while she was out there about it.
