The "latchkey generation" will understand these memes all too well. 

Gen X grew up as a bunch of independent kids, gaining the latchkey generation nickname. Now, they're grown up, and there's a lot of things they used to have back in the day that just don't really exist any more. I, for one, deeply miss computer rooms. That was a fun idea that never should have died out just because of a silly little thing called laptops. Bring back the giant boxy computers with colorful covers. However, do not bring back dial-up internet. I don't know how you Gen X folks survived with that for so long. Some things do need to evolve.
