If there's one thing we can rely on the human race to do, it's be embarrassing. We are so ruled by all our poorly managed emotions and insecurities that all of us find ourselves with our feet in our mouths at some point or another. It means that we have to have a certain amount of grace for others when they do something cringey.
However, this has its limits. Very often, people will act in ways so ridiculously deluded and/or offensive that calling them out on it seems like an inevitability. As terrible as it is, these behaviors are also kind of entertaining. Cringe, at least the bad kind, should never be encouraged, but it doesn't need to be. This stuff happens organically all the time. We only need to take a look at a list like this to be reminded of it, and there will be plenty more where that came from.
