‘She Misused My Mortgage Payments; I Made Her File For Bankruptcy': Woman Claims Bankruptcy After Ex-boyfriend Ceases Mortgage Payments

Finding yourself in a sticky situation with a toxic partner and realizing it after it's too late and you're already in love can be daunting. On the one hand, you adore them for all their good qualities and the times they make you feel like a star. On the other hand, you can't see yourself living with someone who is so controlling and at times, cruel, for the rest of your life. This story proves that breaking up with someone like this is inevitable and totally worth it.

OP finished things with his toxic girlfriend; shortly thereafter they broke up, OP realized that the money he had continued to place into their joint account wasn't going to the mortgage of their house, as promised. Rather, it was going to her own personal shopping sprees, and paying for dates between his ex and her new partner.

OP immediately called the finance company handling their mortgage and told them he would no longer be making payments, adding that they could seize the house if they wanted, but his half of the payments would instantly cease, given that his money had been stolen, amounting to five months worth of payments. The finance company said, 'You can't do that', to which OP replied, 'Watch me'.
