Bird Mom Provides Educational Videos on How to Care for Her 22-Year-Old Quaker Parrot

Some people think having a bird is an easy pet to have. You just throw them in a cage and keep them fed. Done. Well, you would be absolutely wrong. Especially when it comes to parrots. One woman on TikTok has gone viral for posting educational videos of pet parrots. She has several pet birds, but the 22-year-old rescued Quaker parrot named Rocky tends to be the star of the show.

Rocky the parrot was a rescue and came to her in pretty rough shape. His feet were all kinds of messed up and other issues. She was able to rehabilitate him to have healthier feet and all of the above! With Rocky she teaches viewers how they can care for birds like him. One of her most viral videos is of giving Rocky a bath. This isn't as easy as it sounds. Sure, some birds if you plop them near a bowl or a perch in the shower they can take it from there. But Rocky is an older bird that needs some help. She perches him on a very supported perch and mists him with water, which he looks like he very much enjoys. And then she puts him in a specific dryer for birds. After that she preens his neck, to make sure all the new feathers are able to come out, and gives him lots of loving scratchies.
