Some wild cats, unfortunately, get a rougher start in life than others, and this sweet bobcat kitten was one of them. According to LoveMeow, she was found emaciated and weak along with her brother in a backyard pond, barely surviving. Florida Wildlife Hospital & Sanctuary found them… but not quite in time. The brother tragically didn't make it, but the sister did, and she thrived in the hospital, recovering completely. The problem is that bobcat kittens don't do very well on their own, and their chances of survival in the wild are much higher when they have a companion. The staff at the hospital knew this, and so, the search began.

Luckily, they found the purrfect candidate at another wildlife center - a rescued bobcat kitten that was kept illegally as a pet. The two kittens were introduced to one another, and instantly, they formed a strong bond, and the hope was that the two of them would help each other sharpen their instincts and get prepared for release. The staff refused to let the kits go until they were properly prepared. One of them, unfortunately, was too tame and had no fear of humans, so they had to come up with another solution.

“One kit arrived too tame and did not 'wild up' so has been sent to a permanent facility with other bobcats... The other one has already received a new friend,” explained a representative from the Florida Wildlife Hospital & Sanctuary. This new friend was ready, and the two were well on their way to becoming properly wild again.
