Everyone thinks that cat ownership is an incredibly easy thing. Cats are independent, they don't need no human, they do whatever they want whenever they want to do it. But… that's not actually true. There are many things that you need to know and that you learn throughout your time being a cat owner. You learn things like the importance of playing with your cat, and you learn why using squirt bottles can be harmful sometimes, and you learn why cats bite their humans and what it means. There's a lot more to know than you may think.

So, in the spirit of trying to make cats' lives as purrfect as pawssible, we asked you guys to give advice to new cat owners - from the experienced and exasperated to the young and innocent. And although we knew you guys would come up with some awesome advice, we did not expect you to be this heckin' funny about it.

Oh, that's a lesson that most of us have to learn the hard way. When we think of cats, we tend to associate them with self-control and royalty, daintiness. Yeah… no. Cats are little hellions, and they will eat as much as you give them no matter how much you give them. Don't listen to them when they tell you they're hungry - they're always hungry.

Now, of course, just because ginger cat boys are their own breed of special, that doesn't mean that we love them any less. In fact, we love their stupid ridiculous booties even more. They're so special to us, all we want to do is squish their cheeks and give them treats.
