Rectangle - Wolfblood-is-here. 9 hr. ago About 100 years ago someone shot a circus bear that escaped, two different villages blame each other for being the ones that shot it, 'who shot the bear' will genuinely start a mass fist fight if shouted in a pub.

Font - jcl3638 8 hr. ago Someone in my street has gone on holiday for an undetermined amount of time and just thrown their 6 cats out into the street whilst they are gone (without telling anyone). Cats everywhere begging for food, fighting with other cats at 4am, winding all the dogs up and breaking into people's houses for cosy naps and cuddles. Sort of in uproar, sort of loving the new companions and considering not letting them back out.

Font - Saltypeon 7 hr. ago . The council have sent letters to people who are sharing the green bin collection fee, people have chipped in to only pay for one bin for every three houses. The bins never overflow but the letters are "embarrassing". It's the biggest scandal since Deborah's chicken got ran over by a police car in 2019. Some said murder, others said it was on the main road, I asked why it was crossing the road. I don't get invited to these meetings anymore.

Font - cheerupsleepyg 7 hr. ago That last paragraph has made my morning, did you ever get an answer to why the chicken was crossing the road?

Font - CrepuscularNemophile 6 hr. ago It's the biggest scandal since Deborah's chicken got ran over by a police car in 2019 Dorking has lots of white (albino) squirrels. One squirrel called Albi was run over by a post van and got a mention on 'Have I Got News For You'.

Font - mdmnl 9 hr. ago The local primary has a "fake" grass pitch and it sheds little "blades" of the material onto the kids clothes which are admittedly hard to remove when washing/laundering. Certain parties in the village are acting as if the kids are being forced to play with used hypodermics and asbestos.

I feel as if there's a slightly 'edgy' picture book in this, or perhaps a grittily emotional tear-jerker tv adaptation.

Font - riotlady. 8 hr. ago Someone let off fireworks at 9pm and it's not even BONFIRE NIGHT. Somebody else jokingly posted that it was his and his wife's 11th wedding anniversary, cheers for the fireworks, and numerous people took him literally and assumed he set them off. There has been a lot of criticism (maybe acceptable for a 50th wedding anniversary but 11th? Ridiculous!) and the man in question had to post a public retraction clarifying that he did not in fact let off the fireworks. The ro

Font - DivineExodus 6 hr. ago I heard fireworks around 10pm last Thursday, thought it was a bit odd but carried on with my evening. Checked facebook because I wanted to know why a local park had chains over the gates (Still no idea of the council did it or a resident) and I saw a post in the local group: "Who is setting fireworks off at this time of night! Why dont people think about these poor animals that have no idea what's happening!" I think, fair, but it was only a 2 minute job. Turns out

Font - CommissionIll3249 . 8 hr. ago We have a similar drama on our local Nextdoor app but it's just one guy who is passionately opposed to the 5g pitch at the new academy. Every week there's a new rant about it.

Font - Comprehensive-Ad8969 7 hr. ago A pub nearby called The White Lion has been closed for a few years and is getting a very expensive refurb before opening later this summer. The White Lion has a statue of a lion on the roof that was looking a bit grotty so they decided to give it a fresh coat of paint. Everyone is very upset that the white lion statue on The White Lion pub is now painted green.

Font - Dramatic-Purple7398 7 hr. ago A teenage boy reckons he got possessed by a demon at an event hosted by a psychic at a social club. The family are very upset that the psychic laughed at him and refused to...close down the channel to the spirit realm? I don't even know. The police ended up involved and now the psychic is barred from the social club. 161 Reply Share ... TheScrobber 5 hr. ago TBF the Psychic should have seen that coming.

Font - Harrry-Otter 9 hr. ago A much loved local pub/restaurant was recently bought and taken over by some new owners. They changed the name and menu and everything, but rather controversially (lol) they kept the 10+ years of positive google reviews.
