Have you ever woken up from a mid-class day dream with a cursed shinigami book on your desk? If so, you know there must be a hefty responsibility that comes with this little black book. From that red glow in the eyes in your puggish, cuckoo god-of-death that came out of that notebook, most folks could deduce that it's time to get rid of such an evil and move on from your daydream. Well, if any of y'all were Light Yagami on that fateful spring day, that would be the end of your Death Note story. Fortunately for all of us, that's not what Light ended up doing in every weeb's favorite anime. The story spirals onward in a series that starts as a noble death march, careens past self-righteousness, and skitters into demi-god anime territory. But isn't that what we all love about anime anyways? That and hot female lead characters… Thanks, Misa, for always being there for us in Death Note, dressed in some form of lingerie and having hearts in your eyes for a character who cares more about expelling the world of criminals than he does your bedroom.
