Roommates can be catalysts for personal growth, as differences in habits may cause conflicts that aren't particularly easy to solve. In this case, OP's roommate was an old friend from college who had nowhere to stay, so OP initially welcomed her with open arms. Shortly after moving in, this roommate, who we'll call Karen, began to trash OP's home, berate her, and cause a general series of uncomfortable scenes that made OP realize that she had to kick Karen out. Things got progressively worse, and Karen began to badmouth OP to whoever she could, saying vicious and unkind things to secure a 'good person' look.
After Karen inevitably moved out, she called OP up to ask if she could use her address for her insurance to 'save a buck'. OP refused, and told Karen to shove it, as she wasn't fond of the idea of committing insurance fraud. Then she hung up on Karen, who decided to disregard the word 'no' and used her address anyway.
OP called the JFS to report her, resulting in a hefty $30,000 fine for Karen, who was initially attempting to get out of a bunch of medical bills she had stacked up. Then OP began dating Karen's ex-boyfriend, just for good measure. Scroll down to read what happened next.
