One of the cutest things about having a baby is the nicknames you give them. Growing up, my dad gave me the nickname "Emilytee Sweetie." My sister was christened with "Kiss Me Cate" by our Grandfather. I don't remember if we got any more nicknames from that era, but I'm sure there were many misses before those two certified hits.
Giving dogs a million baby-esque nicknames is easy because they stay babies forever. In her life, my families dog Duchess was given the following nicknames: Duchie, Duchie Doo, Dooey, Duchie Doodle Doggy, Doodle, Doodlebug, Buggy, Duchie Ducky Doo, Princess Buttercup, Mrs. Dog, and Sweetheart Girly. Many babies get a comparable number of nicknames, but few stick around, especially when they get old enough to be embarrassed by their parents. It's so much rarer to get a nickname that sticks later in life, so seize the day and give your kid an incredibly formative nickname today.
