For as long as plebs like us have considered internet access an integral part of life, we've been using its varied avenues to express ourselves. The main reason it's such a hub for entertainment is that we can't get enough of other peoples' opinions and stories.
Whatever you might think of it, TikTok's continued success is down to continuing this principle. The human zoo we all curate on social media has never been so varied or colorful. This translates even when we don't spend any time on the platform, because people can't help but screenshot it all the damn time.
Let's face it: the place is entertaining. Giving in and letting its general dumbness wash over you is quite liberating, so long as you have enough common sense to avoid the worst BS. Given everything else happening in the world, Gen Z could have turned out to be a lot worse.
