Teacher Surprises Her 1st Graders With a Litter of Foster Puppies; Finds 18 Pups Their Fur-ever Homes

Every kid who's ever endured adolescence has begged their parents to get them a puppy…. at least once! Kids love puppies as much as adults love puppies, but kiddos lack the perspective of raising a tiny hellhound from birth until adulthood. Adults sometimes look at a puppy and just see it as a training burden or a bedroom piddler, but kids have a pure heart and see pups for what they really are: furry wiggle worms with needle teeth and a heart of gold.

One wholesome elementary school teacher recently got clearance (IDK how, but we're jealous) to have a litter of foster puppies in her classroom. Ms. Brooke has not only taught a gaggle of kids how to behave around baby animals and how to be responsible, but she's also helped 18 puppies find their fur-ever homes. This is their story.

Ms. Brooke took a lot responsibility on her plate when she first started bringing her foster pups to school. Originally it started as an out-of-work hobby, to raise pups and find them homes, but Brooke decided one day to bring her untrained beauties to meet the potty-trained kiddos at school. Naturally the kids bonded IMMEDIATELY with the puppies and all of our hearts are bursting at the thought.

The puppies at first were a distraction to class, but once the kids learned that they would lose their doggo privileges if they didn't still get their work done, the class became a beautiful balance of coexistence and harmony. The kids would read their books to the dogs, cradle them while they watched movies, and they'd bond with them over lunch and playtime.

It would be an absolute miracle if one of these puppies didn't get adopted by the family of one of Ms. Brooke's students. Perhaps that's why she started this endeavor in the first place! Knowing the kids would beg their parents to adopt, the children could prove that they were responsible enough to take part in caring for the little puppies. This is the cutest happy ending for both the kids and the puppies. Ms. Brooke even got a little restfulness in her teaching. She can sleep easy knowing that she's taught these kiddos a valuable lesson that they'll never forget.

This year we helped 18 puppies get out of the shelter and find fur-ever homes
