There's nothing wrong with wanting to eat natural foods and use natural products. In a world where cheaply-made clothes fall apart after wearing them once and where it's far easier to feed kids junk than anything substantive, it's natural to want to resist by making healthy choices. Where these "natural moms" start to lose me is when they talk about how people in the past withstood disease without any Tylenol, so why should they give their children these newfangled medicines? It's really difficult to communicate to a modern person just how high child mortality was in the pre-modern medicine era. The reason why the average life expectancy was so low before the 20th century wasn't because healthy 30-year-olds were dropping dead; it's because the majority of deaths were children and elderly people. If you want to live on a farm and be one with the earth, that's your own business. But acting like you know more than doctors because you read a couple of Facebook articles is a disease of the mommy Facebook group community.
