Has internet humor ruined us? Have memes over the years become increasingly incomprehensible to the point where the only thing we're laughing at is our ability to understand them? What does a smirking Wojak even mean to a 70-year-old man? Most likely nothing, but that's okay. If you agreed with those sentiments, I invite you to think a little bit and reevaluate.
All forms of humor are subjective. Just because I can pull up my Twitter feed and understand, hopefully, 75 percent of the memes that show up, that doesn't mean the ones I don't get aren't funny. I mean, they may very well be unfunny, but that's for the viewer to decide. Internet humor has led to a lot more active participation in comedy content creation, which obviously means it's going to be more varied in terms of content and quality. With that, some memes are bound to be confusing to some.
Some memes aren't for everyone, but just learn to enjoy what YOU enjoy. Don't focus on bringing other people down for laughing at something. It's not like I'm going to make fun of my aunt for posting a Tweety Bird holding a glass of wine meme (I am). Let's take a look at these memes that we got for you. Hopefully a few of them stick!
