Professional Dog Trainer Shines Light on Her Working Pit Bull Service Animal to Dismantle the Negative “Bully Breed” Stereotype

If you are thinking about adopting a dog or getting a working animal, you obviously have to do research before committing to anything. Eventually, you will probably end up finding people talking badly about “bully breeds"—so breeds such as bulldogs, mastiffs, terriers, and, of course, pit bulls. Though these breeds were created mostly for companionship, their reputation gets dragged through the mud. People will say that it is in their DNA to attack, that they could never make good domesticated pets, let alone highly trained working animals. But those people are very much misinformed.

Bully breeds are actually very compassionate breeds that become extremely loyal to their humans (which might be why some evil humans will turn to these breeds and take advantage of that characteristic and train them to do horrible things). Just like any dog breed, with focused training, a bully bread such as a pit bull can become an exceptional service dog. However, these breeds are not often chosen for such roles because of their stereotype.

However, one dog trainer in Canada is set to dismantle that way of thinking. Kristen, known as @dieselandkristen online, has trained her pit bull Diesel to be her psychiatric service animal. Even though many nay-sayers would tell her that a pit bull is a bad choice for working animal, she ignored them and has now trained her pittie to be the most perfect working companion. Now, she takes Diesel everywhere with her and he is trained to help her with any sort of medical emergencies she has. She uses her social media to share videos and photos of Diesel and the great work he does. She says she posts these videos to show the world what bully breeds are truly capable of. See for yourself below!
