Once a year, in a secret location, all the badgers put aside their daily tasks and come together for the Badger Ball, an event of such beauty and grace that it is said any hooman who would set eyes on it would immediately faint. Of course, that is not a problem, as hoomans have no idea of what goes on in the lives of badgers, who happen to be masters of stealth and theatrical arts. In fact, the lives they portray to all other creatures are actually false, just 'above ground' masks they wear to throw hoomans and other animal friends off their scent.
But why all the secrecy? It all has to do with their ball. The ball must stay secret, as it is sacred to the Badgers, and immortalizes the secret unification of the main Badger houses, the Honey Badgers and the European Badger. More so, it serves to unify the Badger nation and strengthen them against the threat of their greatest enemy: Badger puns.

While the correct collective noun for a group of badgers is a cete or a colony of badgers, we much prefer the made-up terms, such as: A bundle of badgers, a bouquet of badgers, and the crowd favorite, a burrow of badgers, which just makes sense.
Though customs seem to differ in how the Badger Houses greet house guests, in reality, these humble mammals are actually better hosts than they seem. No meth shivving or small cottages for their guest, only the finest silver cutlery and golden teacups.
