Secret Shopper Gets Hired to Rat Out Employees, Gives Only Positive Reviews Instead

I always thought you'd have to be a total sociopath to actually want to be a secret shopper, but this redditor proves that not all secret shoppers are former hall monitors who always dreamed of being professional snitches. u/JurassicPark-fan-190 got the job, not to narc on unassuming retail workers, but to stick it to the man by giving workers raving reviews regardless of how good their customer service was. Not all heroes wear capes.

“I remember working at Wal Mart 15+ years ago just a couple of years out of high school. I worked in the Pet Department. We were always told ‘if a customer comes up to you and asks you to find something that isn’t in your department you WALK them to the correct department and help them find it. Don’t just point in the general direction.’ Okay. Two of my good friends from high school stopped in, found me, asked me where something was, and I brought them to the correct department, shooting the shit along the way. Ended up passing by the GM of the store. Gave him a wave and continued on with helping my friends. A day later I got called into an office with my direct supervisor, her manager, and the GM. They immediately terminated me for NOT doing my job and slacking off with my friends instead. I got fired for doing my job, just as they demanded, because the people that I was helping were good friends of mine. F*ck Wal Mart. And f*ck you, Tim.” said u/ArKiVeD.

“My dad worked at Home Depot and they had the same policy. One of his coworkers was a retired guy that worked part time because he was handy and liked helping people with projects. One day a customer asked this coworker where an item was. It was about 12 feet behind him. Instead of walking the customer over he pointed him to the item. Store manager started giving him shit for not walking the customer there. Dude just took off his orange apron and walked out. Tim can get bent.” said u/Aint-no-preacher.
