I have yet to get invested in the world of competitive eating. Competitive sports were never my cup of tea, but I figure if I'm going to watch anything competitive, it might as well be the grossest version of competition imaginable. The most famous eating competition is the 4th of July Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest at Coney Island. Every 4th of July, men and women from around the globe attempt to eat the most hot dogs they can without ralphing all over the other contestants. Yesterday, absolute legend Joey Chestnut went away with the grand prize, devouring 63 hot dogs. I wish I had the strength and endurance to chow down that many dogs in one sitting. That man has won so many of these Nathan's hot dog-eating contests (he's practically the Tom Brady of this particular sport if we can call it that), and he should be proud of himself.
