Font - I wasn't disabled enough for an entitled Karen's liking. I went on a road trip a few weeks ago with my husband. I unfortunately sprained my ankle very early on in the trip, so I had to get around with crutches and later, a cane.
  • 02
Font - We go to one of the camp sites we are staying at, we get checked in and are in the correct spot(confirmed by park management). An RV pulls in next to us an hour or so later. A woman gets out and approaches my husband saying we were at their campsite. He doesn't know what to say or do, but thankfully the woman was whisked away by her husband.
  • 03
Font - I guess there was a mixup with their spot and they ended up getting one without electricity or water (can't remember which one). Instead of taking it up with management, it somehow became our fault.
  • 04
Font - They walked past our tent at one point where the lady was angry whispering to her husband that it was their spot. He told her I was probably disabled so they should leave it alone. She says that I'm not disabled because I'm not in a wheelchair. I held my tongue because it wasn't going to help anything by starting a fight. I was visibly walking around with a cane, but since it wasn't a wheelchair it didn't matter. It's like something out of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Font - My husband did offer to trade places with them but the other husband said no. He seemed like a really nice guy. I felt bad for him. But that seems to be a normal dynamic; calm and patient husband with a crazy Karen for a wife. She nagged that poor man the whole time.
  • 06
Font - EDIT: A lot of y'all are assuming that I'm claiming to be disabled. I'm not. The whole point of my story was being judged by an apparent disability by a total stranger. She didn't know it's an injury. It's none of her business. If she had asked I would have clarified, even if I didn't owe her that. I am also look young despite being 35 that may have also fuled the fire. She was easily middle aged or older, as they tend to be.

Font - I have a Karen as a roommate I share a two-bedroom, two- bathroom apartment with someone who gets triggered by the most minor things. She thrives on conflict. I do my best not to cause conflict, but that is nearly impossible with this 38-year-old woman who WFH. For example, she doesn't want me to be around some of the common areas, such as the small outdoor patio, because she told me her stuff is there. She has a lot of stuff btw. She has so much stuff that she feels the need to put some
  • 08
Font - I decided to tolerate it as long as she was paying rent. I'll let her "seize" those areas and avoid touching a few things, but my patience started to run out when she became a deadbeat. She texted me she would pay me on "the week of June 19th". She needed to pay me on June 1st, but I made the mistake of trusting her. Every time I tried to text her about rent, she was vague about it. I am a bit frustrated not only at myself but at her too. I submitted paperwork to get her evicted.

Font - Today, I decided to lie in front of the sliding glass patio doors to get some sunlight. When roommate Karen arrived and saw me sitting near her stuff, she freaked out. She rudely called me out and told me not to sit near her stuff. I asked her when she'll pay me back. She ignored me and walked into her room. Then 15-20 minutes later, she walked out while talking on the phone. I asked her again, and she ignored me. She walked around me to go outside to the patio and closed the sliding door

Font - After 20 minutes on the patio, I was dumbfounded that she hadn't tried to argue with me yet. That's when I caught a glimpse of her on the phone on the other side of the sliding glass patio doors, glancing at me and hearing her say, "he is sitting on the floor watching videos on his phone." I didn't think much of it. She was probably telling her friend how triggered she was, which is the reaction I wanted.
  • 11
Font - 10 minutes later, a female cop opened the sliding door. I was baffled because I knew I didn't break any laws. I did not harass, raise my voice, throw insults, show violent aggression, touch, or threaten my roommate. The cop asked me what was going on. I nervously explained to her my roommate and I had some conflict on rent, and I added that my roommate gets mad whenever I chill on the patio. First, she told me my roommate can take a walk if she is trigged by me sitting on the patio.
  • 12
Font - Second, she asked me if I was going through the legal process of kicking her out. I said yes and showed her the emails. She told me to sit tight, then walked back inside to chat with my roommate. I heard my roommate talking loudly. I couldn't make out what she was saying. I was worried. Worst case, she could lie, and the cops take her side. Best case, she is trying to convince them that I am the worst roommate ever.
  • 13
Font - [During a recent argument, I asked my roommate what happened. She said she called the cops for my behavior and was telling them what I did.] After 10 minutes, the same cop returned and told me my roommate was rambling about stuff. I just nodded because it didn't surprise me. She went back inside.
  • 14
Font - [My roommate told me that since I was informative and relaxed and she wasn't, the cops sided with me. The cops bluntly told her she was at fault for not paying rent and it was ok for me to ask her about it. The cops were displeased at her for calling them when she could have communicated with me about unpaid rent.]
  • 15
Font - After 10 more minutes, the cop came back and told me they couldn't do anything and that this was a civil matter. We were told to avoid and not to talk to each other. Then they left. My roommate went to get her blood pressure checked by a paramedic. She later returns to her room to lament. you, Karen. I'll be sitting in the common area next to your stuff!

Font - TL:DR Roommate called the cops on me for asking her when she'll pay the rent and for sitting on the patio next to her stuff Update: She has been crying in her room for over an hour. I think she was talking to her mom because I suddenly received $956 in my bank account. I wasn't expecting this at all. She texted me these messages after the incident Text Update 1:I thought I was very. very clear about a paycheck to b late beyond expectation. That should've been enough to avoid your behavior

Font - I have a Karen as a roommate (part 2) Here's part 1 I'm still a little shaken at what happened last night. It all started when I sent my roommate (Remy) a short "demand letter" through text (9 pm). I just informed her that if she is late on rent by the 4th of July, I'll go through a small case court. I was told to do this by the local legal aid if I suspected my roommate would not pay rent. After I sent that, my roommate knocked on my bedroom door. I went out and saw an enraged person. Sh

Font - My roommate did most of the talking. I don't remember everything she said, but essentially my roommate was trying to make a case that it won't look good to the people she knew if I went to court. She also points out how good of a roommate she has been to me and how I have been a lousy roommate to her.
  • 25
Font - My roommate also didn't want other people to get involved. I reassured her that nothing would affect her as long as the rent is paid before we go to court. But the more I resisted her request not to go to court, the more unhinged she became. She said I was the reason she couldn't make money. Apparently, I am destroying her focus by asking for her rent.

Font - After an hour or two of her yelling and insulting me, she mentioned how her peers saw my behavior as harmful. I told her that my peers saw her as harmful as well. She exploded with rage when she heard that. Telling me that I don't have the right to harm her reputation when they dont know the "full story." She got close to my face. Her eyes opened wide. She insisted I should not spread things about her. I held my ground. I expressed that if she can talk to her people about me, then I have

Font - She threw a right hook punch- hitting me on the left side of my jaw. While trying to gather myself and figure out the proper recourse, she grabbed me by my shirt and told me she would do the worst things to me if she were a man. She was unhinged. Remy told me she doesn't hit people, but it was my fault for getting punched. I wanted to escape the situation, but I couldn't. The only thing I could do was de-escalate. I told her that she needed to back off. She repeated herself that I needed

Font - Remy pulls her right hand out. She told me to shake it. I complied. Then she said, "I want you to repeat after me while we shake; I will never say anything bad about Remy to anyone again." (something along those lines) I reluctantly obliged, but I messed up a few times. She wanted me to keep saying it until I told it exactly how she said it. As much as I wanted to resist, I didn't want to escalate the situation. I dont know what would happen if I fled. She might have a She could damage th

Font - After she was satisfied with our shake, she calmed down a bit. I tried to leave the situation by signaling it was late, but my roommate wanted to keep talking to me. My roommate's behavior did a 180. She was friendlier. I did not feel safe to leave until she felt that I wasn't going to call 911. Remy said she wanted us to keep being roommates, even suggesting we get a house together. She said that I needed her. Eventually, after she gave me a high-five and a hug, we decided we had talked

Font - It was 1:25 am. I wanted to call the cops, but I didn't want my roommate to hear me, and I dont want to be at the apartment when the cops arrived. That's when I heard the patio door open and close. My roommate went outside. I took that opportunity to leave the apartment.
  • 31
Font - Shaken, I called 911. I told the operators what had happened and waited for the cops out in front of the apartments where the gate was. Far away from my unit. It took like 10-15 minutes for them to arrive. When the two cops arrived, I explained what had happened. The cops asked me why I didn't call 911 right away when I got hit. I just said I didn't feel safe to leave. They told me waiting an hour before calling 911 is not the right protocol.
  • 32
Font - They gave me a few options. They said I could file a charge against my roommate, but they would have to talk to my roommate and get her side of the story. Nothing could happen if she told a different story, but it could escalate things. Even if my roommate admitted hitting me, she would likely be in jail for a day or two. Adding, "she might retaliate when she returns to the apartment."
  • 33
Font - My other option is to file a restraining order. The cops told me I could get my roommate out of the apartment if I did this. I picked the restraining order option. The cop gave me a paper that explained how to file a restraining order, and I was told to file I on Monday. The cops left. I sneaked back to the apartment. Right now, I am patiently waiting for Monday with a sore jaw.
  • 34
Font - I wish I had recorded the conversation of what happened last night because she said a lot of crazy during this 3-hour interaction. I can't remember all of it
  • 35
Font - Update: I went to the local court. They told me it would be hard to get a protection order on a roommate who isn't/wasn't in a relationship with me and kick her out. I'll still do it anyways because I dont have other options. FML

Font - Commander Karen, the Rainier Cherry Cop I love Rainier cherries. They only come in multi-pound unsealed bags. I live alone. I only buy 10-20 cherries at a time. I grab a few out of the 2-3 pound bag, weigh them and pay for them. Up comes Cherry Cop Karen (shrieking): "you cant do that" Me: uhh...do what CCK: pick through all the cherries
  • 37
Font - Me: I'm just grabbing a few bc I can't eat 2 lbs (none of her beeswax) CCK: YOU CAN'T DO THAT. I'M TALKING TO THE MANAGER! (surprise surprise) CCK: He's picking through all the cherries!!!!!!!!! Manager (in the most politely dismissive tone): but ma'am, what if he doesn't have a big household and only wants to buy a few cherries?
  • 38
Font - CCK: YOU CAN'T DO THAT (CACAWW!!! CAW CAW! face red) Me: I'm still gonna. CCK: storms off Manager and I calmly look at each other and shake our heads.

Font - Photo Lab Karen I used to work at a major photo lab and we had this one photographer who was a class 10 Karen. Just the wooooorst. Every time she showed up, we'd collectively cringe. One day she comes in to pick up an order or some such and she brings her demon spawn with her. As she's doing her business, he wanders off. From the other side of the print lab I hear her scream "Where is my baby?!? WHERE IS HE?!?"
  • 40
Font - She begins frantically running around the entire office, screaming and snapping her fingers at random employees and demanding we find her kid. She runs through the customer service floor shrieking as our reps try and conduct calls. She runs through sales and marketing, shrieking at the sales team "You have kidnapped my son!!!" She then busts into the conference room where our entire company leadership was having their quarterly meeting and continues her wailing that we've all conspired to
  • 41
Font - I know this because we could hear her the entire time from across the office. Finally, the CFO leads her back downstairs to the room where she picked up her prints five minutes earlier. Her kid was in the corner hiding behind the curtain and giggling. She made no apologies. Just grabbed him and stormed out. We all prayed the Company would take this opportunity to give her the boot, but we were treated to another two years of her shenanigans.
