As people who love cats, our social media feeds… are full of them. No matter which platform we get onto, it'll take less than a few hours for our whole entire feeds to be about cats. And we don't mind. Cat content is pretty much the only content that we truly interact with on these platforms. Because cats are funny, and cats are awwdorable, and cats are the sweetest creatures. It's silly, and it's fun, and rarely will someone yell at you for saying something wrong when you post about cats because cats are always right.
So, knowing ourselves, we probably would have ended up in the exact same situation that this person ended up in - embarrassing ourselves because of just how much we interact with cat content. Our obsession was bound to go sideways at some point, right? It's a good thing that this whole exchange ended up pretty wholesomely in comparison to how it could have gone.

It's the fact that he was only liking the cat photos that really makes this story for us. The whole thing would have had a way different vibes if this guy was only liking this woman's bikini stories or something. But no, it was the cat that got to him, and we get that on a fundamental level.
And that's the saddest part of it all, really. Being shamed into no longer liking cat pictures online is just about the worst outcome ever, isn't it? Still, we understand. This just means you have to find another platform to fulfill your cat content obsession. Cough - ICanHasCheezburger - cough.
