Sometimes the best revenge is therapy. Seriously, therapy gets down to the nitty gritty of why that horrible situation happened to you and why it feels so extra horrible. Once you figure that out, it's only up from there! Take this recent Reddit story, for example.
This man was living his worst life. He was in a toxic relationship, he hated his job, and his apartment was falling apart. Things really hit the fan when he discovered his girlfriend was cheating on him. He tried to fight for the relationship, but instead the new man threatened him with violence and the now ex moved in with this new guy. OP felt like he had hit rock bottom. So he went to therapy. After only a few months he realized that it wasn't just the dramatic breakup he was harping on, but his entire life.
Because of this therapy epiphany, he turned his entire life around. He got a new job, a new apartment, and was feeling much more confident. During his last two weeks at his crappy job, he saw that the man his ex cheated on him with was applying for his replacement. He took this opportunity for some seriously epic revenge. He referred the application to his boss and gave him a glowing review! Why? Because he new this job was soul-sucking and that this man would be miserable there. Then, his old landlord asked if he new of anybody looking for an apartment, and he immediately refereed his ex's new man! He was looking like a man taking the high road to everyone else, but he was ecstatic about his nefarious plan of revenge.
